Testimonials

Cynthia Malone speaks publicly, educating people on the risk factors for heart disease. Her dedication to bringing awareness to audiences on ways to improve heart health, lifestyle changes, and pre and post-transplant experiences is based on what she has witnessed first-hand.

With that statement, two families were impacted on November 3, 2010; both the donor family and Coach Chip Malone’s. He and his wife spent fifty days at Emory St. Joseph’s Hospital for him to be listed as a candidate and miraculously receive a heart transplant in just three weeks.

Coach Narleski “Chip” Malone used the next 4.5 years to remind communities of the importance of heart disease prevention. There are over 122,500 people in the United States in need of an organ and/or tissue donation to enhance the quality of their lives. More than 5,400 of those waiting are in the state of Georgia. Eighteen people die a day waiting for organ donation.

There is no glamour in the process of recovery nor the fight to maintain good post-transplant health. Cynthia Malone, wife and co-founder of Chip’n Away @ Heart Disease, is thankful for the multi-disciplinary team of healthcare professionals and the transplant family that provided care to her husband during those years.

Charles Krauss, M.Ed. Health Educator, Healthy Communities

“To Whom it May Concern,

In my role as a community health educator for the Medical Center, Navicent Health, in Macon, Georgia, I coordinate the Medical Center Speakers Bureau and many of our hospital’s community health fairs.

Chip ‘N Away at Heart Disease, founded by Coach Narleski “Chip” Malone and Mrs. Cynthia Malone, has participated in our community health fairs for more than ten years. Likewise, representatives of Chip ‘N Away at Heart Disease have been members of our Speakers Bureau.

The “Chip’ N Away at Heart Disease” health fair booth is always mobbed by members of the general public. Likewise, Speakers Bureau presentations offered by Chip ‘N Away at Heart Disease representatives have always been well received, and earn high evaluations from the public.

Respectfully,”
