The Same Goes for Me "2"

Listening to my own body became essential when I noticed subtle changes that didn’t seem urgent at first. I had been watching my cholesterol levels fluctuating; mostly trending up for a few of my exams. Practicing what I teach, I scheduled my appointment. This created two (2) separate evaluations with my cardiologist. First was an office visit with her checking my blood pressure, and EKG. Then followed by a stress test a week later confirmed that it was time to take action.

At 65, I was prescribed my first medication for high cholesterol—hereditary, but necessary for protecting my health. Me? The person who barely takes headache meds, rarely needs antibiotics, and maintains a decent diet while active in the gym. Still, I fully embrace my treatment plan, knowing that every choice strengthens my future well-being.

All is well, and I am deeply grateful. Taking the necessary steps led to a good outcome, reinforcing the importance of being proactive about health. It’s a powerful reminder that our bodies send signals—we just have to listen and respond with care. By staying committed to monitoring my health and making informed choices, I am ensuring that the path ahead remains strong and steady.

Steady as she goes! Cynthia
